Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and one of the greatest acts of worship that a Muslim can perform. It is the sacred pilgrimage to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah and is obligatory once in a lifetime for every Muslim who is physically and financially able to undertake the journey.
Hajj is performed during the sacred month of Dhul-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims from every part of the world gather in the Holy Land to perform the pilgrimage and worship Allah together.
During Hajj, pilgrims enter the state of Ihram and leave behind worldly differences such as nationality, wealth, language and social status. Pilgrims perform Tawaf around the Kaaba and complete Sa'i between Safa and Marwah as part of the sacred rites of Hajj.
One of the most important parts of Hajj is the Day of Arafat, when pilgrims gather at Arafat to pray, remember Allah and make sincere supplications. Pilgrims also travel to Mina and Muzdalifah and complete the prescribed rites, including the stoning of the Jamarat.
Hajj reminds Muslims of the faith, obedience and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his family. The pilgrimage teaches patience, humility, sacrifice, discipline, brotherhood and complete submission to Allah.
Hajj is more than a physical journey; it is a spiritual journey that provides an opportunity for Muslims to seek forgiveness and renew their faith. Millions of Muslims stand together during Hajj as one Ummah, demonstrating the unity and equality of Muslims before Allah.
For many Muslims, Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a deeply meaningful journey that remains in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
May Allah make the journey easy for every pilgrim, accept their worship, forgive their shortcomings and grant them a Hajj Mabroor.
